Over the years, Bontoc has been a hospitable town for trail running.
Just recently, a devastating tragedy struck the heart of Bontoc wherein a huge fire broke out in the early dawn of 11 April which left 22 households and establishments in ashes. Another 11 households/establishments were partially gutted and 114 individuals were affected.
“Og-ogfo” or Bayanihan, a Bontoc culture was instilled in us from generation to generation. It was commonly practiced during large occasions like weddings and when building houses but it is most often observed in times of tragedy. We are knocking on your hearts to support this event to raise any amount that we can that could help affected victims to get back on their feet.
This will be a 12-km group trail run/walk without aid stations. This is a self-sufficient event and non-competitive as we are raising as much money to help the victims.
This is also to gather outdoor enthusiasts to come together, enjoy the outdoors and appreciate what we have.
