LA TRINIDAD HALF MARATHON 2022

The A-anak Ni Shontog: “Ashokon” is a youth organization based in La Trinidad, Benguet focused on the vision of empowering and nurturing environmental advocates while promoting holistic development to the youth in our locality.
In line with one of our organization’s missions, “to enhance resiliency and physical fitness through transformative outdoor experiences” harmonized with this year’s International Youth Day Theme: “Forging Resilience for a Sustainable Future”, and to promote La Trinidad’s eco-tourism sites, this activity entitled: “La Trinidad Half Marathon: 21km and 10km” is organized.
Further, the pandemic has brought a different kind of stress to the youth of La Trinidad increasing the number of mental health related issues since the first quarter of 2020.
Through this activity, we aim to reconnect our youth members with outdoor activities which could help lessen their anxiety and enhance physical and mental resilience to be more productive members of our society.
II. GENERAL OBJECTIVE/S
• To establish a trail/road running and hiking destination by exposing tourist spots around La Trinidad;
• To advocate responsible stewardship of natural resources, particularly the mountains;
• To promote a healthy and active lifestyle;
• To bring together individuals who are interested in the outdoor activities such as mountain and road running;
• To provide livelihood ideas to local residents specifically the local tour guides by acting as marshals and at the same time act as first aid responders during the event;
• To further, develop the running activity in the local setting;
• To give support to La Trinidad Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

III. ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
To make the event possible, the Ashokon will be in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of La Trinidad particularly the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for assistance in the planning and implementation of the said activity.

• 21 KM: 1,500.00
• 10 KM: 1,200.00

ASSEMBLY TIME: 4:00am
GUN START: 5:30am
CUT-OFF TIME: 6 hrs and 30 minutes
10 KILOMETERS
ASSEMBLY TIME: 5:30am
GUN START: 6:15am
CUT-OFF TIME: 4 hours
V. TARGET PARTICIPANTS
All interested participants (8 years of age and above) all over the Philippines are enjoined.
However, non-Benguet participants shall adhere to existing health and safety protocols of the host municipality. Costs to be incurred in the exercise of such will be handled personally by the participant.
VI. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. Race Requirements for participants:
For 21 KM PARTICIPANTS:
• Hydration pack, fuel belt or handheld water bottle with at least 1000 ml volume and or 500 ml.
• Trail food
• Whistle
• Functioning mobile phone fully charged and loaded with the contact number of the RD (0963-760-4447).
First aid kits: should include Elastic bandage
For 10 KM PARTICIPANTS:
• Hydration pack, fuel belt or handheld water bottle with at least 500ml/350ml
• Trail food
• Whistle
• Functioning mobile phone fully charged and loaded with the contact number of the RD (0963-760-4447).

Recommended: Rain jacket, phones with load and extra cash.
B. Rules and Regulations:
1. Each runner must be SELF-CONTAINED AND SELF-RELIANT, complete with hydration pack or fuel belt, sufficient trail food for your chosen distance. Support outside the aid stations is/are not allowed, except in emergency.
2. Race bib must worn/pinned at the front of each runner at all times.
3. Water stations will be available at multiple aid stations within the start to finish route.
4. This is a GREEN community event that advocate eco-sports tourism. We will not serve plastic cups at every water station.
5. The trail will be clearly marked with orange ribbon; arrow signs and race marshals will be station along the course.
6. Use of trekking pole will be very helpful.
7. This is for the safety of everyone. There will be a cut off time for all distance.
8. No Unregistered Pacers allowed.
9. It will be a RAIN or SHINE event except for super typhoons/wildfire/unsafe weather conditions.
10. Respect our wild spaces, practice Leave no Trace, No LITTERING.
11. Race kits are non- transferrable and you cannot sell it to a friend.
12. Registration fees are not refundable.
13. All participants are required to submit Medical Certificate to guarantee they are fit to engage in this event.
14. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the event rules and requirements, route and/or other arrangements, as they deem appropriate.
15. No cheating.
16. Top finishers will be given a verification card/I.D to check if they had completed the race stations.
17. Participants must present their Vaccination card.
18. Waivers shall present upon claiming of race bibs.
19. Mandatory gears will be check before the race start, at every aid station and upon finishing the race.
20. Participants must 8 years old and above.
21. Participants who Did Not Finished (DNF) may take the short cut way going back to La Trinidad Municipal Hall.
VII. AWARDS
Awarding: 1:00pm
• Top 3 male and female winners of the 21km category will receive a medal, items from sponsors and special awards.
• Top 3 male and female winners of the 10km category will receive a medal items from sponsors and special awards.
* Oldest and youngest Finisher will also receiving a special awards for the 21km and 10km.
