LUUM is back!
The La Union Unity Marathon (LUUM) 5 will be held in San Fernando, La Union on 31 August 2019.
La Union is a few hours away from Baguio City. It is a good stop-over if you are going to places in the Northern Part of Luzon especially the Ilocos region.
I have joined in two LUUM events back then, LUUM 2 and LUUM 3, and it took a long while before the organizer, iRunner, decided to bring back this momentous running event. I did not participated in LUUM 4 because of hectic schedule and lack of training.
I have ran my first 50K ultra-marathon at LUUM 2, with Bib # 500062, which was held on 16 March 2013. Then, I ran again my second 50K ultra-marathon and this time with my brother who has his Bib #60 (I remembered registering him online via bank deposit and email), and we were successful in finishing a 50K ultra-marathon that was held on 22 March 2014. I have Bib # 04 because I was one of the early registrants that time and I availed the discounted price for being a former participant in the LUUM event.
LUUM 5 will only have a half-marathon category plus three short-distance runs including 10K, 5K, and 3K.
Registration are as follows:
21K – Php 1,300.00
10K – Php 850.00
5K – Php 450.00
3K – Php 350.00
Even though it only has a half-marathon for its major category, it will still be a remarkable experience to join on this event.
The LUUM 5 has a theme of “Takbo Para sa mga Batang Atleta ng ELYU” or run for the youth athletes of La Union.
