Rank of the Philippines in the 2018 Asian Games Final Medal Tally

Today, ended the Asian Games which was held the first time in the history of the sports event in the two cities of Indonesia. It was simultaneously held in Jakarta and Palembang hence, the name Jakarta-Palembang 2018 alternative name for the 2018 Asian Games.

The Philippines held the top 19 in the final medal tally of the 2018 Asian Games by accumulating a total of 21 medals.

It has 4 gold medals courtesy of the following athletes:

  1. Hidilyn Diaz from the -53-kilogram Women’s Division of the Weightlifting event last 21 August 2018
  2. Yuka Saso from the Women’s Individual category of the Golf event last 26 August 2018
  3. Yuka Saso, Bianca Pagdanganan, and Lois Kaye Go from the Women’s Team category of the Golf event last 26 August 2018
  4. Margielyn Didal from the Women’s street skateboard category of the Roller sports event last 29 August 2018

The Philippines also garnered 2 silver medals from the wins of the following athletes:

  1. Kiyomi Watanabe from the Women’s 63-kilogram category of the Judo event last 30 August 2018
  2. Rogen Ladon from the Men’s Flyweight 52-kilogram category of the Boxing event last 01 September 2018

Finally, 15 bronze medals were attained from the following athletes:

  1. Dustin Mella, Jeordan Dominguez, and Rodolfo Reyes Jr. from the Men’s team poomsae category of the Taekwondo event last 19 August 2018
  2. Janna Oliva, Juvenile Crisostomo, and Rinna Babanto from the Women’s team poomsae category of the Taekwondo event last 19 August 2018
  3. Agatha Chrystenzen Wong from the Women’s taijiquan category of the Wushu event last 20 August 2018
  4. Pauline Louise Lopez from the Women’s -57-kilogram category of the Taekwondo event last 21 August 2018
  5. Divine Wally from the Women’s sanda category of the Wushu event last 22 August 2018
  6. Margarita Ochoa from the Women’s Newaza -49-kilogram category of the Jiu Jitsu event last 24 August 2018
  7. Daniel Caluag from the Men’s BMX race category of the Cycling event last 25 August 2018
  8. Jefferson Rhey Loon from the Men’s class D 60-65-kilogram category of the Pencak Silat event last 26 August 2018
  9. Dines Dumaan from the Men’s class B 50-55-kilogram category of the Pencak Silat event last 26 August 2018
  10. Bianca Pagdanganan from the Women’s individual category of the Golf event last 26 August 2018
  11. Cherry May Regalado from the Women’s individual category of the Pencak Silat event last 27 August 2018
  12. Junna Tsukii from the Women’s Kumite 50-kilogram category of the Karate event last 27 August 2018
  13. Almohaidib Abad from the Men’s Single category of the Pencak Silat event last 29 August 2018
  14. Carlo Paalam from the Men’s Light flyweight 49-kilogram category of the Boxing event last 31 August 2018
  15. Eumir Felix Marcial from the Men’s Middleweight 75-kilogram category of the Boxing event last 31 August 2018

A total of 272 Filipino athletes competed in 31 sports with Jordan Clarkson as the Opening flag bearer and Margielyn Didal as the Closing flag bearer.

The Philippines along with seven other Asian countries, namely, India, Indonesia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Thailand have been a participant in all editions of the Asian Games since the 1951 Asian Games debuted in New Delhi, India.
